Lesson planning in my sleep (literally)

I had a unique experience last night: I dreamed a lesson plan.

It wasn’t perfect. In fact, it turns out that, while I thought I was adding on some reflection questions to an activity I’d already planned for today, these reflection questions that I dreamed were on a different subject. Still, they were GOOD questions: text-dependent, requiring rigorous thought and profound connections. Thankfully, this is a future topic of discussion rather than one that’s already passed.

I am most impressed that I remembered the information, because often, I forget my dreams by the time I’m fully awake.

So, yes, you best believe I used the questions in planning my next lesson.

But this begs the question: how many other lessons have I planned in my sleep?

This has never happened to me before, but I sure hope it continues. Fellow teachers, how about you? Have you had this experience?
